Stanza 1:
The Hawk sits on the top of a tall tree in the Jungle with his eyes closed. He enjoys the high position of the Jungle. He has a great advantage in having a hooked beak and sharp claws. He is seemingly sleeping but actually preparing for his prey.
বাজপাখিটি জঙ্গলের একটি লম্বা গাছের মাথায় চোখ বন্ধ করে বসে আছে। জঙ্গলের উঁচু অবস্থান সে উপভোগ করে। তার একটি বড় সুবিধা হল একটি বাঁকা ঠোঁট এবং ধারালো নখর। সে আপাতদৃষ্টিতে ঘুমাচ্ছে কিন্তু আসলে সে তার শিকারের জন্য প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে।
Stanza 2:
The Hawk describes that he is favoured by Nature. Everything in nature seems arranged for its convenience. Trees help it to perch high up to detect its prey on the ground. Air helps him to fly spontaneously. The sun gives him light and warmth.
বাজপাখি বর্ণনা করে যে প্রকৃতি তাকে অনুগ্রহ করে। প্রকৃতির সবকিছুই তার সুবিধার্থে সাজানো বলে মনে হয়। গাছপালা তাকে মাটিতে তার শিকার সনাক্ত করার জন্য উঁচুতে বসে থাকতে সাহায্য করে। বাতাস তাকে স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে উড়তে সাহায্য করে। সূর্য তাকে আলো এবং উষ্ণতা দেয়।
Stanza 3:
His claws help him to get a tight grip on the rough bark. He boasts that the entire creation is working to make his body perfect- his claws, his feathers, etc. Now he feels that he can control the whole creation in his foot.
তার নখর তাকে রুক্ষ বাকল শক্ত করে ধরে রাখতে সাহায্য করে। সে গর্ব করে বলে যে সমগ্র সৃষ্টি তার শরীরকে নিখুঁত করার জন্য কাজ করছে – তার নখ, পালক ইত্যাদি। এখন সে অনুভব করে যে সে তার পায়ের সাহায্যে পুরো সৃষ্টিকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে পারে।
Stanza 4:
The hawk soars and circles slowly in the sky, surveying its territory and hunting for prey. He claims that he can kill whenever he wishes, as everything belongs to him. There is no deception or softness in its action. His manner is ruthless – tearing of heads.
বাজপাখিটি উড়ে যায় এবং আকাশে ধীরে ধীরে ঘুরে বেড়ায়, তার অঞ্চল সনাক্ত করে এবং তার শিকারের সন্ধান করে। সে দাবি করে যে সে যখন ইচ্ছা হত্যা করতে পারে, কারণ সবকিছুই তার। এর কাজে কোনও প্রতারণা বা কোমলতা নেই। তার আচরণ নির্মম – মাথা ছিঁড়ে ফেলা।
Stanza 5:
The hawk thinks that he will decide who will die and when he will die. He claims that he can kill any creature whenever he wants. No one can challenge or question its authority.
বাজপাখিটি মনে করে যে কে মারা যাবে এবং কখন মারা যাবে তা সে নিজেই ঠিক করবে। সে দাবি করে যে সে যখন ইচ্ছা যেকোনো প্রাণীকে হত্যা করতে পারে। কেউ তার কর্তৃত্বকে চ্যালেঞ্জ বা প্রশ্ন করতে পারে না।
Stranger 6:
The hawk feels that the sun is always supporting him. He believes that nothing will ever change in nature. His authority and rule will remain the same as it was before.
বাজপাখিটি অনুভব করে যে সূর্য সর্বদা তাকে সমর্থন করছে। সে বিশ্বাস করে যে প্রকৃতিতে কখনও কোনও পরিবর্তন হবে না। তার কর্তৃত্ব এবং শাসন আগের মতোই থাকবে।
